Fun Filled 4th! (2012)

Today was a fun filled 4th of July! I started the morning off with running a 5k with my sweet neighbor, Allyn. I came home from my race to find the kids playing out back & Brett snapping pics of them. We went to the pool together. Lots of swimming, jumping off the side, going under water, & crusing the kiddie pool. Came home for lunch & naps (mama included).  Last on our July 4th agenda was the neighborhood celebration which included: face painting, big slide, bouncey houses, & food trucks whoooo!! Our bff's Monica, Jack, & Gracen came with us. All the kids had a great time & were worn out by the time we left at 7:30pm. Plus, Mon, Brett, & I enjoyed the sliders from the food trucks yum!
Happy Birthday America!!

This is how Monica rolls with multiple kids. Awesome!

Ending the night with dancing & watching Macy's Fireworks on tv because there was no way my kids could have stayed up until 9:30 for the back yard fireworks.

Grabbed this chair in front of one of the many many fab pools there.
Behind BH is where there are 5 water slides (which he tried all of them). He loves those slides!
Looking @ the sharks after he went through a 60 foot vertical water slide through them.

Pioneer 15th Anniversary Cruise (aka Our 1st Cruise!)!

June 25-30, 2012: Brett & I set sail aboard the Carnival Destiny for an Eastern Caribbean cruise because Brett's company was celebrating its 15th anniversary. Back in the fall Pioneer sent out an email offering a cruise for employees & spouses at a really good price. A cruise was not on our radar, however this came up & my in-laws (Grandpa, Adele, & Amanda) SO nicely offered to come down to stay & care for the kids part of the week. The rest of the week my parents got the kids. So we couldn't turn down such a fun opportunity!
We were both looking forward to the 3 stops on the cruise: Turks & Caicos, Half Moon Cay (Carnival's private island which is part of the Bahamas), & Nassau, Bahamas.
We cruised from late Monday until Wednesday morning when we arrived in the beautiful Turks & throughly enjoyed our relaxing time on the beach & under the palm trees. Then, we set off towards Half Moon Cay, unfortunately Thursday morning as soon as the boat was taking people onto the island it started raining & lightening. The captain informed us that we couldn't stay due to the weather & continued onto Nassau. We were so bummed to miss this island because we heard it was amazing. Friday morning we arrived in Nassau & unloaded early so we could get to our excursion. Paradise Island The Atlantis!! This is where Brett & I honeymooned so to say we were excited to return was an understatement! We spent 8 hours off the boat that day & LOVED being at The Atlantis together riding slides (Brett a lot more than me), seeing the aquariums, swimming, lunching, & walking all around.
Every night we would have dinner in the Universe Dining Room with all the Pioneer group. We made friends with some of the other accounting people & their spouses so we ate dinner, went to bars, the casino, the Disco, & the comedy shows together.
Overall, fantastic trip! My favorite part was simply being with Brett 24/7! It's a rare event these days! Thanks babe for working for such a wonderful company! xoxo
(These are pics Monday-Thursday.)

 Bye Miami!
 All aboard!
On our room balcony leaving Miami.
Tuesday night @ the cocktail party & dinner

Our view Wednesday am when we woke up. Turks & Caicos

It's still so odd to me that this is how we traveled to these different places. By boat. Yikes!!
