Hagedorn Family Fair Day 2012

It's that time of year again (our 6th year to be exact) to roll down to Fair Park for the State Fair of Texas.  Brett & I started this tradition when it was just us two. Now many years & changes later we still enjoy the petting zoo, seeing the animals, walking around, eating fried bad food, & getting our picture drawn. I love the fair day with my little fam!

Welcome Fall 2012

October 1st hit & it felt like fall...finally! We've been hot & doing lots of sweating throughout the summer. I'm ready for it to cool off & bring on the fun fall outings that this season brings. Monday's I have been taking the kids to Story time at the library, but it was so nice outside I asked them if they wanted to go to Arbor Hills, a local park & nature preserve in Plano. Happily both kids said yes! Both kids made me so proud there because #1 Jackson told me every time he needed to go potty & #2 all SIX times Emma Kate trekked over there with us. :)

After naps, I wanted to continue the beautiful day with my little people. I suggested taking them to the big lake in our neighborhood to feed the ducks & riding their bikes around. I've never seen so many ducks. I loved hearing Emma Kate & Jackson tell the ducks that they had brought them toast!!

Overall, it was one of those days that I need to remember when it's a more challenging day. I'm working on being more in the moment & cherishing our time together since I feel like time is moving along quickly as Emma Kate is approaching her 1/2 birthday this month.

At Arbor Hills sharing a snack.

"Get our toast out!"

Thank you Emma Kate & Jackson for a beautiful day with my beautiful babies!!

Donuts with Dads

September 27, 2012: At Prestonwood, they hosted their "Donuts with Dads" event. Emma Kate & Jackson were THRILLED to have Brett drive, go into their classrooms, eat donuts, do crafts, & check out where they spend their Tuesday/Thursday school days. I tried to snap a few pictures before they took off.
Hands down Brett is the VERY BEST dad!! Love you Big Guy! xo

 Quick shoe adustment...

Off they went!

Jackson's Turn to get PT

September 21, 2012: Jackson's official PT start date. We have been talking about it & decided after our vacation would be the right time. Jackson has been using the potty (#1 only) almost nightly before bath time for a few months now, probably because he sees Big Sis doing it.

Luckily, on Saturday my mom was more than happy to have Emma Kate come, stay, & play all day with her while we stayed home & close to the bathroom with Jackson. EK was thrilled to have ALL Lolly & Pop's attention & a sleepover & I think Jackson enjoyed Mom & Dad alone time as well. EK would have gone stir crazy Saturday if she had stayed home all day with us for sure! It was very sweet though when I called my mom around dinner time to talk to EK, we did speakerphone & EK told Jackson how much she missed him!! Melt me!!

I had always heard boys were usually older & more difficult to train. Last year, at this time I wouldn't have thought training Jackson at 2 1/2 years old would happen. So. Consuming. And. Draining!!! However, it's been an overall pleasant experience (minus boys parts aspect...we'll get to that later on) with Jackson. He's really getting it & tells us before he needs to actually go! Yay! So much that I ventured out Monday morning for our normal Storytime & park outing with an only 3 day PT boy & he didn't have any accidents & actually went 3 times in public restrooms. As I write this, I must also note that he hasn't had an accident since the 2nd day of PT!! Score!!

Disclaimer this is the too much Mom info section that I want to note: PT a boy is very different than a girl for the obvious reasons...different unfamiliar parts to this mama on the best approach to actually getting it into the potty itself. I've been peed on more in the past week than ever in the "newborn learning to change a boy diaper" phase. Sitting down is the preferred method now so we're working on aiming down (easier said than done!) As the week has gone on he's been improving, thank goodness!
Clorox wipes are a must training a boy. :)

Jackson Reid~ Mommy & Daddy are very proud of you & the big boy you are becoming! Outstanding job!! Love you!

This is such a huge milestone for us (Brett & I) because we have been changing diapers for 3 years & 3 1/2 months CONTINUOUSLY....Wow!! Big step for all of us!!

Last diaper ever!
First pair ever!
Biggest cheerleader ready & set up. :)

Day 2- playing & passing the at home time with this handsome guy & glow necklaces.

Proud of his sticker chart.
He got the Lego set as a "big" reward after doing such a good job.

Love you, sweet man!! SO VERY VERY PROUD OF YOU!!
