PT- Day 3

Well, yesterday was the last day of  the 3 day potty training program (lockdown as I refer to it!) Emma Kate went all day without any accidents!! Yay Sissy!! Many many many #1's & still no #2...time will tell...   Brett is simply the best, he took a "sick" day to stay home with us. Thanks babe!

Update from today: My first day solo with EK being "potty trained." We went to Aunt Katie's house this morning & she went twice there! Didn't have any accidents in the car or anywhere. Oh I just got her from her nap & she was dry! (she's been dry for all her naps thus far) Yay!! So proud of you Emma Kate!

PT- Day 2

Why can't children just teach themselves this?!! Ha wishful thinking! Emma Kate is doing good. Still lots of #1's, and has yet to #2...hopefully that happens tomorrow. I knew that would be challenging for her.  We tried not to mention the treat aspect after pottying to her hoping that would prompt her more to tell us when she has to go. Only 2 accidents today. One while in a timeout...pay back for mama maybe ha! I'm still not sure if it's "clicked" for her yet. Time will tell I guess.

PT- Day 1

Yesterday was day 1 of potty training Emma Kate. Overall good day! We started right after breakfast getting into her big girl panties & drinking some juice. 20+ times of pee pee on the potty yesterday with only 2 accidents. She was prompted most times by us reminding her of the "treat" if she went on the potty. A M&M & adding a sticker to her chart. I felt like a broken record with how many times I said "tell Mommy when you have to go potty" and "lets stay dry" or asking her "you still dry?"
We're hoping that she gets better about telling us on her own & not just about the treat aspect making her go, but it was only the 1st day & we're really proud of her!! I think day 2 the stir-craziness might set in around here...stay tuned. Here are pics from day 1. Big thank you to Brett, who did a great job spending extra time with Jackson & being involved! Also, to the best little brother, Jackson who would follow us into the bathroom to clap & cheer for his sis!!

Date to Remember

I'm writing this post to recall the date (which was last Friday, July 29, 2011) that we took the kids in the backyard to play at their water table, run around, & stay cool in this very hot summer we've had. I didn't put a swim diaper under Emma Kate's swimsuit. After playing outside for awhile she came up to me & said "Mommy, I have to go potty." It then clicked in my mind she's not wearing any type of diaper & realized that & then told me...Go EK! So I rushed her into the bathroom & set her on the big potty. She got a little weary & said "no, I'm not going to go." I said "if you go potty I'll give you a cookie." There she went!! Over the weekend she went 2 more times after the pool. Soooooooo we've made the choice to start the big chore of potty training her this weekend!!! 3 day potty training program here we come!! I've been preparing, getting items,amp; talking, & pumping her up all week! WISH US LUCK!  I'll give updates on how the process is going. Pics from last Friday.
